My friend Rudy put in quite a bit of hustle, and yielded some great results.

M&E C-424 #19 will be joining the collection of the Tri-State Railway Historical Society in NJ.

Check it out: http://www.tristaterail.org/me19/

A model worthy of preservation... perhaps Atlas should make one in N scale to commemorate this?

Too bad CP didn't preserve CP 4200... the first Centurty Series unit built.

Learn something every day, I would have bet the C420 predated CP 8300 but you're spot on...

I know, I drive old cars. The motor should be well supported though ...

Why spend money fixing an old engine

When you could maintain a newer one?

 :)
   Ryan,
MLW never built C420s,but was still building RS-18s for awhile after the Centuries
   were introduced.
    after CP8300 Alco built the 15 unit EL C424 order,then the 1st C420s for L&HR
   were built,about 5/63.
Alco also built at least 1 RS-36 for Tennesse Central after the L&HR C420s.
not exactly a smooth transition period.
