I had this explained in great detail at the Springfield show (by the CEO himself).  He makes slightly more than the preorders and since he only sells direct and always sells out he has no need to offer any discounts.  That's his business model and it is not going to change.  He knows very well that many will see him as an a$$hole, and he is ok with that - actually he seemed proud of that, and of his business model.

I'm really not trying to say anything bad about them, actually.  Just commenting.  Just saying that if it's not a car I really 'need' I'm not going to buy at that price.

These are cool. 8)

But not essential for me. Weighing in is $30 plus shipping probably pushing this close to $40 delivered (the website did not surrender clues about the cost of shipping).

Still would like a few of the releases, but ...

[Thread Drift] I'm still scratching my head over why someone would downvote @Scottl last past. The mind boggles... I wish people had to give an explanation for it. I found his post on his experiences with PWRS to be helpful.[/Thread Drift].

I'm glad that I'm not the only one noticing this odd behavior. It is often contributed to people hitting the down-vote arrow by mistake.  :|

I ordered once and after adding all my info online, I had to call them with payment info. Just hate it when I can't place an order at 3am online. :|

It may be different now.

There's been an update on the site, you can purchase single cars. So that's good news.

If they are in fact offering 2 body styles, 5 sills, 3 roofs, 3 ends 8 doors, 3 hand brakes, 2 brake systems, 2 coupler options, 2 cut bars, and 3 sill step options, then $30+ is in no way out of line.  They also still mention a new truck on the N scale page.

Anything less than that I hope they're lambasted for being too lazy to make a separate N scale page.

Their recent Hawker Siddely(sp?) potash cars are nice! I am looking forward to them reaching Ebay soon because the shipping costs are no joke. I bought a book and an FVM boxcar (listed as being on clearance) last year from PWRS. I got the book plus shipping and 8 months later the boxcar came with an additional shipping charge. The second shipping charge negated any real savings. I am a little disappointed.
