Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

Quickie selfie-pic from behind the table. 8k acid tank and LSGs. Will post a better pic later.

Bryan,

What's up with the tank?  I've been in and out of the MRR loop, being busy with the new house.  Is the tank a cast of the car you used to offer or a whole new model, maybe the Tangent HO scale car in N?
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

AC&F Type-27 8,000 gallon acid tank car kit, specific to Hooker Electrochemical.  It was announced in the ESM Newsletter earlier this month.

By belt rail I assume you mean the waist ridge that looks kinda like the one around the moon Iapetus?
What is its purpose - casting line?

Ed:  I tend to agree on the metal/plastic wheels.  IF the metal wheels, and all turnouts, are in perfect gauge, everything is fine.  But plastic wheels don't short on points that are a little too close, and they NEVER get out of gauge, if they're in gauge to start with.  I have a mix of both, and they don't seem to run any different, although they might if I ran longer trains.

The belt rail is indicated in the drawing at this link as item #417, with item #418 being the belt rail cap.  All of us who took mechanical drawing class in the 20th century should be glad we did not have to take it in the 19th.  But in any case, since 1899, it has been called a belt rail.

It features prominently on the prototypes for these cars

But not on a SF RPO

If out there somewhere someone is looking for a car side to etch (I must have a drawing of this somewhere, not sure if the length would really be correct, but would be an excuse to buy an obs)

I'm in for a couple of those superintendents cars! I was going to make one out of the Atlas car.

Thank you for clarifying my "belt rail" reference. That 1899 drawing is an piece of art :o
And yes, if someone would do a brass overlay for the ATSf short superintendent car, I'm in,
Otto K.

Love the shorty heavyweights, but those diaphragms.....yuck.  They look like O Scale ones.

Yup, but if those are actually functional, bunch of people will love them and rave about a wicked cool gimmick.  :)

Maybe be because these models originally were offered in O Scale.

http://www.atlastrainman.com/Freight/tmo60passengercars.htm

I just discovered this morning that these 60-ft passenger cars have been available in the Atlas Trainman Line in O Scale for sometime.

I wonder if the road names offered in O scale will be a hint of what will be offered in N scale.

Good bet that they will be.  All depends on just how well the offered roadnames sold but lets hope...

@bbussey

Did the Atlas folk give any hint as to an order & release date on those Atlas 60' baggage & combine cars?

I've been hitting http://www.atlasrr.com/ordership.htm weekly, like a ferret on crack since you posted this, but no rush yet.

I need me some 60's!

Unlike others in your pics, it doesn't seem to be on that model's printed signage.
