Finally.  I always suspected Atlas would be the one to do these.  Hopefully the Northern Pacific and Great Northern cars won't be too far off.

All 4 L&N and a SOO or 4 for me and maybe a BN too.

A bunch of releases this month. More mechanical reefers, ex-MDC Hi Cube Boxcars and 3 bay hoppers too.

Bryan:  These are the Plate B 4600 cf cars, and wouldn't be right for the NP/GN, which bought the Plate C 4650s.  These are usable for the CB&Q, and hopefully they'll be in the next run.

Intermountain once announced the early 4650s, in a magazine ad, but, as far as I know, they have never been mentioned again.

Ah, yep...you're right.  In my zealousness, I didn't even notice.  Drats, foiled again.

Bryan,

Maybe hope for NP, if Athearn does the Conditionaire version:

Mark:  That would be a long shot, but since Santa Fe also had a few, it's possible.  They had a better chance of being seen off-line than the GN/BN/ATSF F45s, and Athearn made them.

Someone, years ago, did an article on modeling the Conditionaire cars in HO.  If I remember it right, they sprayed the body with glue, then covered it with sand, to simulate the insulation.  It was almost as ugly as the prototype!  But I'd buy at least one, as they weren't uncommon sights in Pasco.

And, someone, Bachmann maybe, made one in the ACF demonstrator Conditionaire scheme in N, but it was a 4-bay car, without the added insulation, just painted that way.

Has there ever been any news on these cars? I preordered a couple 3 packs from the first release and they still don’t show any info at the hobby shop.

Is the 3-pack just a bundle of the road numbers above, or is it different road numbers?

Athearn,, has made the 3 pack different numbers in the past,, so why change.

Definitely the SOO and BN for me,, all number. One can never have enough covered hoppers.
