Hi you all... I picked up an Atlas B23-7 today. Road number 1984. I cant for the life of me figure out what the address is. a friend at the show tested it and it ran fine on the club layout. Now at home with a NCE system I cant get it to do anything on either the cab number or 003. Any suggestions? Thank you for your help in advance.

Put it on a program track and try reading some CV's. If you can't read it most likely the motor contacts are not meeting the pads on the decoder properly. If you can read CV's read its address or you can always just program a new address. That's how we did it before read back was available.

I would follow mmyers suggestion. Atlas usually defaults on 03. I'm guessing that if you try and read the address it will say NOAK for not acknowledged. If so, double check the motor contacts as mmyers suggested.

Can you control the lights using address 03 or the road number?. If you can, definitely the motor contacts.
