Back topic - I got to chat up one of the local bridge inspectors last weekend. Deleting the curse words they are pretty much convinced HH is there to cut the place up and sell it off.

Cool!  Divide it up and bring back the Seaboard System!

Very funny. No, it would mostly be divvied up between UP, CN, NS and BNSF; HH and Ackman so eviscerated CP they don't have the resources to pick over the bones. Maybe FEC would add some mileage.

It's apparently gotten so bad the dispatchers are afraid to give the tie crews track time. So they are down to a few hundred ties per crew per day because they have to run out and back. Perhaps it will work out up north but down here ties don't last long.

I had not noticed that!..This was shown with the post that contained the article I posted a link to upthread, and I thought it was a video of the cars that got away from them...But I guess it's just a video of some other free rolling cars, somewhere else!

With Irma bearing down on Florida and the SE, a bad situation likely gets worse.
