I've spent a good part of the day programming and tweaking decoders in several engines. These BLI E6's now run and sound awesome, and they are oh so sexy :D
Pic taken at east end of Summit on my Cajon layout.
They are the power for my early 1947 era El Capitan, before the F units took over. There are still some details to be added inside and out, and I'm trying to figure out what to do about the front coupler. It needs to be functional because the E6's needed helpers eastbound over Cajon, but the long sloping nose makes it difficult. Thoughts or ideas? (It needs to be compatible with MT's on my steam helper tenders).

If the two barn-like structures are kits, may I ask which ones you used?

Hi Tim,

The first one is a reworked Heljan (I believe-I built it years ago). The horse barn is Bachmann (Again, I think). These two buildings were done about 20 years ago. So, my memory of them may be a bit off.

Thanks,
Wolf

I got a new layout!
Details here: https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=28969.msg506394#msg506394

Just spitballing some building placement here.

Possible AR location. The scene isn't exact, but I think it will be a nice vignette that conveys the prototype. Also forgive the shed placement. I think it should go on the other side and turned sideways.

So let me get this straight... Ben got your layout that used to be Ed's layout, and your new layout was Tim's old layout...Meanwhile parts of my layout are now parts of Eric's and Ed's layout, and Dave's old layout is now Brian's layout.

I'm beginning to think that next time I come to an ops session we're all just going to put our car keys into a brandy snifter to see who goes home with whom... :P

While playing with the BLI E6 programming, I decided to replace the couplers between the two units with body mounted Unimates to close the gap. BLI's diaphragms allow for a nice tight coupling, at least on my 18" minimum curves and #7 crossovers. Dang these things look good, or am I just biased?
Now I need to start working on the eleven car El Capitan trainset to go with them...

Otto, it might be the camera but it looks like the A unit cab end isn't sitting down as low as the other end. I know you're in socal with all the low riders on hydros but that e unit isn't a64 impala!
