Yes!  Another shelf switching layout!  Nice progress so far.

Indeed.  My area is all of 6 feet wide, so when I had the plan drawn i specified no more then 18 inches depth.  These two segments are the first of 4 that I will be building that make a U shape.

So where in the house are you working?  Is this tucked into a corner of the garage?

No - we sectioned off part of the front living room for hobby stuff about 18 months ago. The plan is the way it is because I have this solid wall and some GSA surplus cubicle wall on the other side.

Over on the right side of the living room, then.  When we were there we were talking about doing something in that tiled room off the kitchen...

(I'm sure you covered the whole thing in this thread somewhere, but you know..... My attention span...)

So has Everett moved his legos elsewhere?  Or is there a requirement for safety shoes to get to the train room?
We could open a whole new forum for model railroaders laboring under the severe restrictions of living in a "No Basement" zone...

Let’s just say my feet are toughening up.

That room off the kitchen is one of two home offices we have going at the moment.

Well thanks to the drawing talents of the Wizard of the Woods (tm) and a printing workaround to get a pet to my iPhone to my printer, 1:1 track inspection has begun:

Thats the plan.  Needs some legs or brackets or something but that's where its going.

I love this stage of a layout build.  (I've kind of been at this stage myself for years now... )

Um no - you have track and ballast and signals and ops sessions and brown craft paper scenery. I’d say you are at least 0.000009% ahead of me.

This stage of construction is great. At this point, the layout can still be “perfect” since it’s rather easy to make changes and adjustments. As one proceeds beyond this stage, it becomes increasingly difficult to make changes if you spot something that doesn’t work well from a design perspective. Then the “sit and stare at it” stage kicks in and some modelers get stuck there if an easy solution doesn’t come to mind.

A good whipping does sound pretty serious.
