No, I said "Ed's Law."

Just a shout out to Max and Ed who both did a terrific job with photos and layout.  They and the rest of the N-Trak folks (Craig Barrow, Jim Kline) made this process easy for a newbie like me to contribute, and the final result is a really spectacular collection of useful stuff.  Very happy to be a part of it.

One thing is unclear to me:  Is this also an addendum (like the previous versions) and the name was just changed to make things more (or less) confusing?  Does "annual" mean that these will be issued every year?

Actually looking back, the "addendum" titles were a bit confusing too, since each addendum stands on its own (it is a complete book).  I guess renaming the entire series as an "annual" makes sense., assuming that there will be new one issued every year.

Thanks John!
We're glad you contributed (1/3 of the book... lol).

One of the things that kept me going while laying out all of the pages was wanting to do the great work that the book holds justice.

This is a book of all new content. The intent is to put out a new one every year (as long as we get enough submissions and people keep buying them).

I agree, the history is a bit convoluted, but hopefully things will be more clear going forward.

Originally, starting back in the 90s, the "Steam Locomotive Book" would appear with more and more material added to it as the years went by.  Then, around 2006 ( I think ),  the team (and I was not a member of that team then) decided that
the amount of material was growing rapidly and issuing a complete book containing all of it every year would be unworkable.

So they started publishing "Addendums".

Finally, in 2015, they decided to drop the idea that each volume was just an "addendum" to some book that was published 10 years ago,
and they retitled it "Annual", which I believe is the label we will use from here on.

Very Nice!

Cover looks great!  Don't be hard on yourself, the prototype had flaws just the same.

Yup. And have digital downloads. I'd buy the digital catalogue of the old editions in a heartbeat.
