Very nice...

Just a BAR State of Maine for me this time around...
Hopefully the 1950's version of the three stepped CP block will be re-run at some point in the future...  :D

Would the yellow CP cars be used for off line service by the 80's, or were these cars a captive pool?

The yellow cars were in general service, AFAIK.

The CP cars in all the schemes are very popular.  We will include an as-built CP block herald in the next release.

When did these cars start entering service?  I know that a BAR boxcar went to the paper plant about an hour and a half drive from my home in western N.C. but don't remember the date... may be outside my era but want to be sure...

Looking forward to them :) and will likely pull the trigger on the Mandarin Car just because...

The yellow and remaining brown cars (block and script) were still in revenue service well into the 1980's (even into 1990 in a limited scope)
They were mostly captive to high priority perishable service. Often on CP's transcon intermodal trains.

Can't find much evidence of them wandering into the States regularly, but they did. a block of BC apples or Manitoba Potatoes headed south...  :D

In this batch, the BAR SoM is Magor-built 1950, while the NH SoM is PC&F-built 1953.

Might have to fudge one of the BAR cars heading to the paper mill... would be a nice car to say the least!!!

Can't see the pictures in Mike's post but here is the links...   Edit: I can see them now  :P

@bbussey If these early yellow cars are eventually made keep in mind that the Multimark is at the B end on both sides of the car vs. the later versions where it is always to the left no matter the side...
CP changed this by 1970 to avoid painting the Multimark on the tall ladder... To add to the complication there is some crossover between the black trim and the different placement of the Multimark so photos will be key.

Have no worries considering how closely you reproduce specific prototypes, but a little anomaly to keep an eye for...
