That C&NW Hammer head is cool. I love ugly ducklings. I have plans to model this unit one day.

I started to build one of those a ton of years ago when intended to have a freelance shortline.
I'll see if I can dig it out and snap a pic.

Signals and pipe bridge/supports run thru ultrasonic cleaner.  Majority of wax removed, still have some to go

When I worked for Crown Zellerbach's Nanaimo Lakes Division back in 1977, we had a high hood RS-3, ex Delaware & Hudson 4097.  I used to ride it to work the occasional morning on its way to the log sort and reload, 26 miles out in the Vancouver Island bush.  I never saw the low hood unit.  Must have come after I was gone.  Please excuse the long-faded photo.  The loco is really orange.

Awesome.

What a great idea rapid prototyping those signals. Will they be lit?

As are the trees!  Haha. What a cool story. There's so much interesting railroad history on Van Isle.

These signals look really good (and they'll look even better painted silver). But I also worry that they will be super-fragile.  Hopefully you'll have no accidents while cleaning track or re-railing cars.

All accolades go to @Erik aka Ngineer for the signals.  I'm not an electrical guru and per information on the product site, these are not meant to be lit.  I'm not certain how I'm going to mount them.  I'm think maybe trying to put a pin in the base since I'm on foam board and stick them in, allowing some give if they get hit.

I was also able to give some ideas over on NSN and got these produced.  They will work for now, I had suggested a smaller version of the same trailer.

Every train room could use a stepstool.  For years I've been using an old bathroom stool from when my children were much younger.  Today I gave it a coat of oxide primer and a stencil and now it helps contribute to the railroad museum vibe that I'm trying to establish in the train room.  It's nowhere near the size of a real railroad passenger step stool but it works for me.

I could use one of those with an SP herald on it

I haven’t posted much lately but I did have the time to try out some weathering techniques on an Intermountain hopper this weekend. Inserted replacement hatch applied an acrylic wash followed by weathering powers and a light airbrush of grimy black and dirt. It certainly toned down the “newness “of the car.

Have a great weekend and keep up the great work everyone.

CMRy's Colorado City shops have turned out another class 138 2-8-0. This is one of the older Roundhouse engines that required new knuckle couplers but it runs very well.

I haven't had any time for modelling this week.  I've been in bed all week with a cold.  Thanks Chris  :x
