New Bachman lightweight observation

From early pictures I was afraid it was a Pennsy prototype but not so. So whose car is it?

And B- is so weird ... selling the lightweight cars at $60 and the heavyweights at $80. WTF? both have interiors and lighting.....

I think the wisdom of the group was that it has the window arrangement of a Rock Island Pullman Standard car, which for some reason Bachmann has produced with Budd fluting.  So I would be willing to be corrected on this point, but I think it has no actual prototype.  Of the several fluted cars they are producing, I think the only one with a definable prototype is the coach, which is an ATSF chair car- the same car Con Cor produces as a "twin window" coach. With the CC car, you have to add your own lighting, but it does have flush windows. The baggage is a cross between 2 ATSF cars (or maybe a cross between an ATSF car and a RI car).

 You are correct.  Bachman made Rock Island Pullman observation La Mirada as a Budd car.  Please forgive me if my spelling is wrong.  If Bachmann would fix the roof that would be a great improvement.

The baggage car.....I agree there probably closest to Santa Fe but I have what I consider a rare picture of something slose on the Rock Island but I can't see the number.

Not sure what they are basing their B&O Budd cars on... the blue letterboard was quite rare.  Bachmann's smooth sided cars aren't much better... not sure what they chose to base these on but would not be surprised that there really is no prototype for them as well.
