Wow.  Those handrails.  And judging by the coupler that is really an N model.

These appear to be the Rapido HO scale FA, but in N scale. These were MLW built and were based upon the FA2. These models, I believe, are based upon Canadian prototypes so they will probably need some modifications to make them suitable for US railroads.

Recently Rapido has announced US prototypes for their FA2 so we can hope.

Maybe the old L-L shells will fit on the Rapido mechanism.

These are the FPA-4 and FPB-4. Not something I'm dying for, so only gonna get a few CN and VIA... not dying for but the VIA are right in my era (at the close of their careers) so just a small fleet is in order.

There is one painted for New York Central at the train museum in Danbury Conn. It's different enough so even my untrained  eye saw that it wasn't right. I have no vested interest in FAs, but it's about friggen time someone made a DCC ready FA. The last run from lifelike was, what, twelve years ago?

There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

. . . my obtained eye locked up on that it wasn't right.

Hmm, where did you pick it up? I could use a new pair - mine are getting a bit fuzzy, especially for all the microscopic modelling I like to do.
 :D

As far as the model goes, I hope that those free-standing door handrails will be little less free-standing on the production model.  Also, do the grabs on the nose look to be thicker than the handrails by the doors?  Is that prototypical?

I have a feeling they will be more than $39.99 for an A-B set.

Anyone else catch the different number on the body verses the number board?

If they release this in the black and gold my wallet will be running scared.  :scared:

The last run from lifelike was, what, twelve years ago?

From what I've heard Walthers has had a lot of legacy issues due to Lifelike's poor record keeping.  That includes drawings.  But twelve years.....yeesh.
