Here's a stupid question... how does one pre-order based on the announcements? They're purporting to offer models and schemes I'm definitely interested in, but how do I cast my "vote"?

Of the four online shops I use, only one lists any ability to reserve or otherwise pre-order IM product, and their site is so far behind the IM announcement curve it's not funny. In my view, the constant IM announce-but-not-deliver game is clearly having a chilling effect with retailers not wanting to mess with them.

Continuing the thread tangent: I recently learned that IMR has postponed the 2nd release of their excellent 70 ton bulkhead flat ... but the thing is I did not even know there was a 2nd run announced!

I'm 50/50 to go to a show this weekend that Intermountain will be at.  Any questions people want me to ask?  I'll be asking about getting 30" ACF hatch covers.

The TCA show in Loveland this weekend?  No, I don't think they will be there (even though some of their people live real close).

You can try emailing them questions, the Intermountain website has a big "Email InterMountain" button on their home page http://www.intermountain-railway.com/  They also try to talk to every dealer on a monthly basis.

BTw, my contacts at Intermountain always tell me that if there is any question whether a model has been cancelled is to check the website,  They try to keep that updated.  They don't like canceling something, but if they only get a handful of reservations of an item, they really don't have a choice.  Their manufacturing partner at some point in the last few years raised the "minimum quantity" so they were caught with a bunch of things they thought they would do, but then it no longer made economic sense.

You can special order too, but for that you have to run the customer service gauntlet.

Well I finally found the floor plan on the POS site that is the Rocky Mountain Train Show and I didn't see IMR or Kato (they are listed as a vendors elsewhere) or anything else worth making the drive.   Hopefully the spring show will be better.

From the artwork, it appears they'll have an overhanging roof rather than a non-overhanging roof (e.g. NP)
