So this happened today.  Finally got sick enough of those Woodland Scenics risers to do something about it.  Lots of hand-carving of a plaster/Sculptamold mix to match the handful of rubber rocks.

I haven't had much time to model lately but finally managed to finish these three UP SD70M's that have been on my desk since late spring !

Really Nice, now Kato will finally make some straight rad SD70m. :D :D

A few photos of my layout. Making progress (Slowly but surely).
Working on getting all of the ground cover and ballasting done. Then, I will go back and add the fun detail stuff (Trees, shrubbery, utility poles, lights, more vehicles and of course - people). As well as weathering.

Thanks,
Wolf

It needs a lot more vegetation including static grass, aspen trees, and properly "flocked" pines.  But it's finally starting to look like something.  Does that mean I have my mojo back?  I hope so!

EDIT:  I should mention that all of the rock seen here is carved from a mix of plaster, latex paint, and Sculptamold.

You and me both, man!  Workin' it.  "Modeler's block" seems to be busted for now!  Fortunately after a bad Thursday, my trigeminal neuralgia has backed off enough this weekend to get me to un-a$$ the La-Z-Boy and do some railroadin' indoors and out.

took an hour to go ahead and 'sculptamold' (verb-ed) the mesa slopes...it does improve the look and will be even better after drying and sanding...I'll wait to ballast after adding a little more talus, river sand/silt/boulders, and paint the cut and add riprap...that way I can 'wet' and 'glue' in one session.
Then...some careful strata airbrushing (I received a brand new Iwata gravity feed Eclipse for my birthday today!), pinon and juniper 'scrub', telephone poles, and the cantilever signal bridges...still debating whether  to add a couple of slide fences. "Arbo Canyon" is prone to rock slides, so it would follow that there would be one...
Thanks for looking,
~Bruce
