Neat idea.

I want that PC car. That is HOT.

But I don't have a need for the rest of the options.

What is a boy to do??

You're obviously talking about the PC car that was included in the email BLW sent out today ?

I'm kind of out with the 3 packs because I have no use for an autorack.  I'm glad they didn't do a CSX pack (yet).  I could spring for a B&O or NS set though.....

A couple Of them have MoPac cars - which might be Good for interchange. But there isn't a Southeastern pack, so I'm not willing to bite. That said if you do get a pack for the PC car and have stuff to surplus, I'm happy to look stuff over and see if I can help rehome stuff.

I have to agree with you that the Penn Central car is nice, but the car depicted is not correct for that body style.  The car MTL chose is an ex-PRR X59 boxcar.  These were built by ACF, and are about 75% correct for MTL's 60' Greenville boxcar.  A much more accurate PRR car is Thrall built class X57 boxcars.  These were Greenville clones.  There is a builder's photo on Bill's Pennsy Photos.  See here:

I printed copy can be purchased for about $10 IIRC.

I would like to see MTL do this car myself:

http://conrailphotos.thecrhs.org/Images/CR-219011-Class-932B

This is an ex-NYC Greenville built class 932B boxcar.   There is even a photo of the other side, see here:

http://conrailphotos.thecrhs.org/Images/CR-219011-Class-932B-0

I mean to disrespect to MTL.  I just get frustrated when they could do it right if they looked a little bit harder.  Or consulted the various railroad historical societies.  And when are they going to offer this car without a running board?  I really want to buy some, but I refuse to fill 10 holes in the roof.  Thank you.

RE: that PC car...

MTL finally makes a car I would buy, makes it part of the grab bag program.

I'm not buying a grab bag just for one car.. :RUEffinKiddingMe:

Yeah, I'm with you, @Philip H.  In their defense, MTL is at the opposite corner of the continental United States, but it does seem like they tend to ignore southeastern U.S. roads, at least they have on their heavyweight passenger cars.  :(

Heck, other than the auto racks I have yet to find any of the other cars I would want. Sadly like you guys, I don't want to buy the bags just for them. I know some have been posted on feebay but haven't bit the bullet on them.
