I would encourage you to try "Gallery Glass" made by Plaid.  I have found it at Michaels.
It is applied similarly but is much, much more clear and does not sink into the window (as much) giving the concave look that the MS product does.
In fact, I have found if you position the model as such after application, you can get the window to arc outward which is handy for vehicle windshields.

Thanks for the tip.
Will check on it.

My main use for Kristal Kleer nowadays is to glue on license plates.  It sticks to both chromed bumpers and paper, and if one doesn't like it, or gets a little too much, it can be peeled off, without damaging the finish.

Thanks for confirming the Shapeways EP5 supplier. I have seen this one on the site and had wondered if there was another supplier out there.
Regarding the chassis, I have been in contact with Dapol, they have not committed to another run at this time, maybe in 2017,and thats a big maybe.

I had better start looking for some chassis  for myself.

Right now there's three from the UK up on Ebay.

When I got mine, there was about eight up.

I will say one thing about these engines.
They run about as good as any Kato.
Smooth operation at all speeds as well as creep pretty slow.
All axles geared as well.

UP4-8-8-4,
How is the fidelity of the chassis w.r.t scale, e.g., the EP5 has 8' and 7' axle centres per bogie/truck and bogie centres are 36'6, centre axle to centre axle with the 7' length on the inside, so how close is the chassis.

Axle center spacing of the EP-5 side truck covers are pretty much a 100% lineup match.
On the Dapol Class 58, both the ends of the trucks extend past the main wheel housing and will need to be cut off on both ends. Once cut the EP-5's covers will be a exact fit.
