For the SP (ex-Golden West Service) box cars:
B-70-43 GBEC 1969 built. 48 purchased
499 VCY high cube box cars: 100-ton, 50' long, 16' double sliding door

Thanks @ryan_wilkerson !

Also B-70-43R rebuilt in 1984

Thanks.  I might be willing to accept a dreadnaught end as a stand in for the ... what would you call it?  ... on the OCE car.  Definitely closer if not exact.

Might have to accept a stand-in for the SP cars too, looks like they have  peaked roofs. The advert specifically mentions a flat roof on this release, so maybe we'll get lucky on the next one.

The ATSF cars might be ACF 6100cuft ATSF 46100 - 46199 so not sure how close they are either. Roof looks flat.

Super Shock Control red scheme apparently in 1999:

The link that ryan posted above appears to show a flat roof, and closer to the IM number series.  Those seem to be pretty dang close for the prototype.

The BN scheme also seems to be confirmed.  How about the others?   :)

I agree that the ATSF cars are at best a stand-in for the ACF cars, which have a distinctively different sill.

Note that the actual ex-Hubberts tooling as seen here on Spookshow's site doesn't look exactly like the artwork in the flyer.  The taller section of the still is a bit shorter on the actual model.

BNSF '97 scheme looks good:
http://www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=65120

What's odd is that swoosh cars are in the same series according to IM, but a railcarphotos search of that series didn't turn up any swooshes.  (Not that I care!  :D)

EDIT:  I guess the swoosh is bona fide.  http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=240000
(How would you model that distorted metal, though?  ha)

MILW were apparently ACF  but are very close:

Which extends appropriately to the ex-MILW MDW scheme:

I couldn't find anything on the CPAA number series, though.  Foob?

Which leaves UP, and that's a winner.

CPAA 87000-87024 in service 07/1992-10/2000 (ex CP 87000-87024 (in service 07/1988) (nee Milw 4500-4599 series built 7-8/1972)

As Far as I know these cars were built by Pacific Car & Foundry not ACF...

Can't find any photos online but I have one in one of my books I will scan tonight.

Apparently, the BN cars IM is representing here are PC&F built in 1977:

EDIT: a more period correct (1979) photo:

Great to see.  I didn't realize that LBF ever made a double-door 50 footer.

E&C offered the cars with the peaked roofs in HO, I don't know if they ever existed in N.

No... The only car ever made in N was the later Gunderson version with the non terminating ends and flat x panel roof.

If they make the car they are advertising in N (with and/or without the peaked roof) this will be a first for the scale...  :)

Edit: to remove a double flat double  :D

So from the announcement, it sounds like these are all new tooling but I thought the Value line was just rerunning existing LBF/Huberts tooling. Is it easy to swap out things like the ends on existing tooling?

Here's the important question for me. What service were these cars usually in? Personally, I'm looking for good reasons for the western cars (BN, ATSF, UP, MILW) to be on my NCR. I'm sure they'd appear, but I want to make sure I'm sending them to the correct industries for the type of car.
