Many of you have seen my folding two-track staging yard that can be swings underneath the HCD, saving much space in the layout room when not in use.  Now, I present the rolling reverse loop/staging shelf that will allow out-and-back operation on the Aberdeen & Rockfish portion of my layout:

Similar to a station that use to be close to home.  Was a beer and gas place.  Your model looks like a later version with the brickwork painted red.  A nice station actually, may have to get me one...

Finished the long weekend building a better Gulf sign to match a 1940s prototype.  Brass wire (soldered) and styrene rods.

How neat !  The Napa Valley Wine Train !!

Very neat, except every bit of it is a complete and utter FOOBIE, and you'd have to buy two sets to even come close to a prototypical consist. Still, I've been tempted.

Great stuff this week! LOVE the Gulf station! :o

Got another one of my SW1500 kitbashes in fresh "Kodachrome paint just under-the-wire for this week's update (thanks to the holiday). ;)

Very nice!  The only thing I would add is a couple of warm-white 0402 LEDs in those lamp shades!  :D

Looks awesome, but even the real SP never tried going anywhere without the motor. Or maybe they did? That would explain a few things. I see you left space for a new MT scale coupler.  :D

Dave:  At least aspens are prototypical for the RGS.  Do you know any bonsai enthusiasts?

My masking sucks...But everything else is coming along nicely. I need to fix that angle on the roofwalk. I have body mounted a pair of beta test Micro Trains scale couplers. The caboose has the long shank couplers. Not only did I have to drill and tap the hole, but I also had to tap the coupler box mounting hole aso the normal 00-090 screw to fit through the box.

I also converted my Micro Trains SW1500 with the standard shank scale couplers. The mounting clip for the coupler is a real tight squeeze, I had to hog out the coupler box mounting hole with a #62 drill bit, and still had to fight it back into place. Damn, it looks great, but it is a bitch.

Took a trip to Louisville because we've never been here before.

Discovered my new favorite railroad. Conrail holds nothing to this...

Also, many thanks to @cbroughton67 for the info and amazing hospitality. He, his family and his layout are truly first class.

It was a real pleasure to meet you and your wife in-person, Ed! What a fun evening! We'll have to plan for a longer visit on your next trip out and run some trains! :-) -Chris

Continued work on the heavyweight diners.  The roof master is being cast.  I believe everything else on the bodies other than the lower end grabs is done.  I'm also waiting for confirmation from the NHRHTA on whether or not the beverage bar was removed from one of the cars by 1956.
