Yep. Plus I'm a huge hater of "appifying" the internet. If it can be a website, make it a website.

And until we start integrating with JMRI or something, this can be a website.

Actually, I've been thinking it would be kind of cool to add a web api of some sort to JMRI that you can then use from within your webapp.  Then, want to have your throttle be html5?  No problem!  Want to build a custom throttle app that also shows things like route and includes turnout controls, etc?  No problem!

I know JMRI has some sort of http capabilities. It might be worth investigating them.

Used it tonight at an ops session. I thought it worked fun but my battery did drain searching for the internet connection in the basement which was very low. Got a few odd looks and others that thought it was a nice add. One feedback I got, "Passenger stop" should be added,

Great!
I love that it's being used.

I've added your request here: https://github.com/ekapus/TrainCrew/issues

In other news, I think I might've fixed the issue about the hiding badges.
Take a look at the site now with your various problematic devices:

Did you update it once again this very minute!? I was just about to say that it now showed the badges just fine  :), but that I missed the colors they had before . Then I switched from Chrome to Safari - and voilá the  colors were back  :o Nice!

Only one small thing - "Hoses" in in "Couple & Connect Hoses" disappears behind the badge when in portrait mode on an iPhone 5. A line break before "Hoses" perhaps?

Yep, I probably did the update just then.

Interesting. It shouldn't do that. Stupid iPhones...

I missed the colors too. I'm glad I got them back.

My next big project is adding in error states: ie, you have a sticking brake shoe, too much of an air leak, etc...

Ed, Just how realistic do you want to get with your app? I see a couple things in the daily inspection you missed. Since you are a Conrail guy, I figured you'd include the cab signal departure test. You also did not include the brake pipe leakage test and the alerter test, to see if it causes a PCS penalty brake application when it times out.

This just went from mildly interesting to very. (One man's opinion). Cool stuff, Ed.

So, now, Couple & Connect Hoses has the countdown badge thingy on top of the text for Firefox Phone.

As realistic as possible!

Let me know the details on those and I'll add them.

Cool. It was always in the plan, but I wanted something working to start playing with before diving into THOSE complicated waters.

Quick update: haven't done much new functionality wise, but have cleaned up some issues that have been bugging me. I also added a lot more info to the about page:

I've made another update.
I added a "Set and release" airbrake test, and fixed a bug with the other tests that rendered "0 car" in the status bars. Now it correctly says "0 cars".

Here's the new feature: http://traincrew.conrail1285.com/airbrakes-setandrelease.html

Visual inspect and return to cab need sound

Maybe walking on ballast with a brief hesitation every time you dick duck under (between) the car(s)?
