I found that same map, Chris.  It looks very detailed and is what made me think that your guess at the right-of-way was close.

Would be nice if they could sell you the PDF of the whole map.

Well, I ordered the map.  At least, I think I did.  When the order was complete, it came back to a download page and displayed aerial maps with the right-of-way superimposed.  For example:

Yep, pretty much along Route 105.

Hopefully, I’ll still get a copy of that 48” x 24” map.  That thing has crazy detail.  I’d consider getting that framed for display.

I got a PayPal receipt that shows the order for an “ET&WNC Railroad Wall Map,” so hopefully, I’ll get that sometime soon.  I don’t know why I was also allowed a download of the aerial maps of the entire right-of-way from Johnson City to Boone.  Pretty cool, though.

I found this:
http://cfordart.com/maps/ordersingle.html
Looks like they want you to buy it though.

Edit:
Here is a sample from it:
http://cfordart.com/maps/mapdetail.pdf

If you zoom in it is pretty detailed.
I have a set of these print maps that he did for the Stemwinder book. To be honest, I forgot I even had the things, as I have no wall space left to frame and hang them, so they're still in the mailer tube...
I haven't been back to the area since 2005, so I'm dying to get back there. More than anything, I wanna see the remaining 3-rail track that still exists off a side street in Elizabethton (and it kills me to know the number of times we went right by the street when we'd visit the area when I was growing up and never knew it was there).
I really want to spend a full day at Tweetsie in Blowing Rock to get hands-on with #12 as well as follow the original route as good as I can from Blevins to Boone, via Cranberry...

My wall map that I ordered a few weeks ago is among the missing in the USPS system.  Hopefully it will arrive someday.

Meanwhile, I did receive an order from Trainworld, which also took a while, but it got here safely.

I definitely have to get some O scale people.  If I can figure out how to do it, I need to get some decals made for the Tweetsie RR for these excursion cars.  Here's the inspiration and why I bought multiple colors of excursion cars:

I wonder how many modelers before me have actually modeled the Tweetsie RR, the amusement park, as opposed to the ET&WNC.  :P

Yeah, you'll probably be the only one modelling the park. What era? If it's a few years ago, combine #15 used to be there, a the first curve as the train leaves the 'town' on its trip.

Artistta makes excellent figures but if you're looking for crew for the cabs, you're going to have to cut the bottoms off into a 'V' shape to fit between the backhead and cab. That's a very tight spot!

Easy. Just find a good quality image of the side if you can, scale it to what looks right, and print it on photo paper, and glue them directly to the sides. They're plywood in real life if memory serves...

I'm not going to actually model the Tweetsie RR park- just one of its trains for variety.  When I get this little layout off the ground, it'll likely be just a single scene in a shadow box, e.g., Doe River Gorge or maybe one of the truss bridges over the Doe River.  The Tweetsie RR train will be just to pretend to return No. 12 to its former stomping ground.  Truth is, it's been at Tweetsie longer than it was on the ET&WNC.

The era that I have always planned as far as the ET&WNC goes would be the early war years- just before No. 14 was sold.

Thanks for the tip for Arttista figures.

You can just scale these, print 'em on cardstock and cut them out, and voila!

...the logo, not the whole car.
