The Memorial Train is traversing the PRR Middle Division and has left Huntingdon, PA (in Mill Valley, CA) bound for the Juniata Division and Lewistown, PA (in Colorado Springs, CO).

Pennsy in the middle of NWP territory?!! Headed towards PA in D&RGW territory??? That's just wrong...  :ashat:

Where is the consist currently?  I link to keep track of its whereabouts to help anticipate when it is arriving in New Jersey and gauge how much layout progress can be done.

Likewise.  I know it's been to the Juniata Division, but haven't seen any evidence of that yet...

The train is ready to depart Long Island after a brief trip to the Lavis Junction, and is on the tracks waiting for Conductor Horton to confirm the that next destination is ready to receive inbound traffic into The Oakville Sub.

Likewise.  I know it's been to the Juniata Division, but haven't seen any evidence of that yet...

People's evidence 1:

The Mike McGrattan Memorial Train visited the PRR Juniata Division in July, 1956.  It was hauled by venerable K4s number 5448.

The entire consist:

Passing through SPRUCE Interlocking:

And over the Juniata River:

And out on the line:

Here it arrives at Lewistown:

The train arrived in Enola where it will switch power to a pair of GG1s that will take it across the Susquehanna by way of Shocks Mills Bridge.

It was also transported to 1905 and Buena Vista, Colorado where it was pulled by Colorado Midland number 34:

Video was taken as well.  A tribute to Mike and his proud Canadian heritage:

And out on the line:

I was serious with this response.  These are both my layouts and I am waiting for instruction from Tim.

Tim emailed and asked me - Monday I think - If I was ready.  I immediately responded in the affirmative.  Tuesday he asked for confirmation of my street name...I responded immediately.  Oakville Sub is ready and waiting.

Instructions coming - have been contending with home computer and email challenges, and advantage of the delay was taken to replace the shipping box for the next portion of the trip - thank you John for alerting be and seeing to that.

As a point of interest - when the label was generated by Lemosteam, the McGratten package showed up on something called My Dashboard (on the USPS site).  I use this frequently to follow both incoming and outgoing parcels.

And now, under the heading of USPS Follies, I present the following:

Pre-Shipment Info Sent to USPS, USPS Awaiting Item

It was supposed to arrive today.  Nashville is only about 30 miles away.  Anything that gets to Nashville is usually delivered the next day.  Unless they send it to Nashua NH.  Why Nashua NH?  Got me.  Murphy, perhaps?
On the good side, they do know what the tracking number is, and that gives me as the destination.

I had an outgoing package disappear - about this time last year - just vanished near it's destination.  I waited the requisite time and filed a claim, which was paid with no fuss, all done online.  And the day after I cashed the check the package arrived at the destination.  Thirty days late.

Stay Tuned.

And they said mail delivery by train was slow. Hopefully it won't be a month before you get the package.

Checked again this morning (as usual) and it came back to Nashville from Nashua NH (took 4 hours this time), and they got it to Spring Hill and it will be delivered today...

And this is what USUALLY happens - except when it doesn't.
