Weathering a BR24 steam locomotive

Hi!

I´ve got started on weathering since a few weeks. Spent most of that time reading and trying out metods and materials. I ended up with a mix of airbrushed wash, brush applied wash in streaks. Followed by color detailing with alcryllic powder, sealing the Creation with a matt varnish (Clear cote). Sounds like a lot of work, but didn´t take more than 3 hours including stops/starts and clean up of tools.

My prototype:

Very nice job indeed.  I love weathering my locos and cars but I shamefully admit that I have never weathered any of my German stock.

I'd say shiny, but it's obviously not.
Thanks much,
