Big Atlas Sale at MBK

Hey yo, thanks to @mu26aeh , I was given a heads up that MBK is having a pretty big sale on Atlas stuff:
https://www.modeltrainstuff.com/Atlas-Newsletter-s/3843.htm?searching=Y&sort=3&cat=3843&show=300&page=1

If you use the code 25ATL at checkout you get 25% off their listed prices.

I finally pulled the trigger on that PRL U-boat that I'd been eye humping every time I went into the store.
I'm tempted to go back for a pair of PC SD35s.

Let the feeding frenzy begin.

Must not look. Must not look.

I tried, but failed....ended up getting the GMTX SD60 and Rock GP40, both with factory DCC.  Just to good to pass up.   :D

Sale is good through June 1st.

We'll see. I'm trying to focus on building the layout...

Trying.

I've got a small army of PC SD35's... Mostly because they've been so readily available.  Even have a couple of the un-numbered units that I've added numbers too.  Given there were only like 40 SD35's on PC's roster, my numbers are outta-whack... But it is what it is.

There were 3X as many SD45's, but good luck getting those in PC paint... I'd luv to have a few.

Definitely hard to resist! I am in the same position you are  - got to work on the layout. All those cars and locos would look so much better on a more complete layout!  8)

The discount must just apply to items on the sale page linked in the OP, right? I tried it on a different Atlas item and it was invalid.

That threw me for a minute, too. That's just a link to another sale page. You land on the Atlas sale page.

Right. Not all Atlas items are on sale, just the ones that the link pulls up. It's a mixture of O, HO and N scale items.

There is also a 10% off select BLI items sale as well - http://www.modeltrainstuff.com/BLI-Newsletter-s/3879.htm?searching=Y&sort=7&cat=3879&show=300&page=1 Scroll through and find the N scale items.

Some PRR Centipedes on sale for $314.99 (dual) or $161.99 (single).  Also a bunch of hoppers and some E's.

Dang, MBK is on the ball.  I already got the shipment notice and it's been less than 5 hours since I ordered....   :o :o :o

I was expecting the normal 48-72 hours processing time.  Must have hired some more folks in the pick-n-ship department.   :D

Cheers,
Brian

Wow, I never realized how few they had. I agree on the SD45 front. Luckily, it's easy enough to paint undecs in PC. Hell, sometimes you don't even need to do the text or the worms!

Thanks for the heads-up, @Ed Kapuscinski.  Unfortunately, I already bought three SBD GP38-2s.  I was tempted to see if they would last until a sale price was offered when I bought them, because SBD rolling stock is not usually in high demand.  But, these are the units that Cory gave me the option of picking which road Atlas would run.  So, I moved while I could, and, if I had waited, I would have lost the third locomotive, since only two are in the sale.

That said, I am seriously considering purchasing the two undecorated SD50s offered in the sale to rebuild my SBD SD50s that don't run as well as my other Atlas locomotives (Note: Atlas offered these SBD SD50s in May 1999, so they're old!).  Hopefully, there's been some upgrades in the driveline in sixteen years, and I could get both undecs for $112.49.  That's tempting.
