Milwaukee SD40-2

Back in '05 N Scale Steve traded me 2 Milwaukee SD40-2 locomotives in exchange for some of my work.  I've been waiting to weather them all this time, but I've always let some other project get in the way. My plan is to keep them pretty clean.  Here is one of them as Steve sent it to me:

Looks nice.  I don't know why, but I always liked the Milwaukee scheme.  Orange and black; maybe 'cause I'm an Orioles fan.  ;)

That said, step one: patch the ends of the fuel tank, please.  It's bad enough with a full-length fuel tank, but those shorty tanks really show off those gaps.  Yeesh.

Oops, based on those photographs, step one is to fix that SD35 style air line/air tank over the fuel tank.  Then, otherwise, it really is a nice model, and that modification will be cake.

Do it!
Do it!

Then you're careful grace for sure

Kinda like the way you keep looking away

New fuel tanks ends would certainly make a nice model look better.  Before you start weathering, there should be a bell on the long hood right behind the cab, another MILW-specific detail would be the "solid" front and rear handrails vs the chain on the stock Kato handrails.
