Puddy to change his tagline.... the new single window coach

After asking for one for heaven knows how long, Angus Shops (Geoff Gooderham) has rolled Easter, Christmas, birthdays and Groundhog day into one and has gone and done it.... (We should elect him PM, or President, maybe Generalisomo....?)

Without further adieu; The Canadian Pacific Railways, all steel 76'9 First Class single window coach.....

The car is Geoff's standard construction, resin injection but with very fine details, right down to the rivets. The car matches the 1300 - 1337 series, build by CPR at the Angus Shops in Montreal in 1929. Here's the link to an official CPR folio:

http://www.cptracks.ca/data/folio_passenger/45-C-282.pdf

The car comes as body and roof in one with a detailed bottom and is designed to accept body mounted MT's and the newer MT off set bolster tri axle truck.

I used an MT inside kit, made two cuts and easily inserted the seating to complete the car's inside. I added passengers and blinds as well.

Here's a close up:

Here's the car beside the MT paired window coach:

The two look quite good together.... :o

Rumour has it Geoff will be making another, slightly different shell soon the is more generic and closer to some US roads cars....for the time being Geoff's products are exclusively available through Central Hobbies in Vancouver..... guess what; I highly recommend them....

Time to change my tag line I guess~

Wow, beautiful car.  I'll have to dig out my books and see what it is close to. And if he is working on a "generic US" car, even better.

Could we impose upon you to turn the car around and show us the other side?
Tom D.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

Very nice!    Any chance that this car ever ran in the CP+B&M Alouette?

That looks great! Cant wait to get my hands on some. Out of curiosity, how well would these stand in for 1400, 1800, or 980 series CP cars?
Because why not...

If the car matches other MTL cars and becomes available I might just have to buy.  :|

Well; they are all 83' cars (76'6 end to end) but the 1300's had the eight seat smoking area and woman's washroom, ergo the slightly different window config at the ends; the 980's and 1400's didn't have this, being built several years earlier.

Quick snap of the other side....

Gorgeous!

Where does one find appropriate CP passenger decals these days?  My old stash of Northeast Decals is pretty much depleted (and what's left is is in poor condition).

Why Winnipeg of course. ;)
Al Ferguson is great to deal with, and they are spectacular decals Microscale or greater quality...

Very cool  8)

The ridges above and below the window line make me want to wait for the MTL version (coming _/__/___).

When I bought my first MTL sleeper I slapped a piece of masking tape on the jewel case and wrote the date, it was some time in 2010. I wrote that so I knew how long it would be till I got the rest of the train... So I've been waiting for 6 years.

Yes, not a lot of question about that Tim..... Geoff and I speak regularly and when he told me he was beginning work on the 1300's I did my (then) broken hip happy dance.... it was one of really three cars I need to be completely content with my Dominion, SOO Mountaineer and Atlantic.... (Glen 10 compartment sleepers and R class 8-1-2's being the others.)

Geoff's stuff just keeps getting better and better and I wish I could find a way to properly thank him for his efforts.
