Rapido is doing the Draper Taper GEs in that Horribly Oversized scale, when might we get them in Normal scale Puddy?

I would buy a couple in N. I've seen them all the way down here in Texas several times.

I'm not a CN modeller but I'd buy one. When I saw the Rapido announcement, I was hoping that one was in N.

Briggs Models made resin kits of these a few years ago. I've got two and they are quite nice, but no longer in producton

This is the first offering in our "Prime Mover": series of "entry level" products. Same exact drive system, motor, chassis as our regular products but fewer factory applied details. Many are found in a parts baggie in the box so modellers can... well... model....... The DCC sound version will be utilizing a less functional decoder, fewer functions so things like ditch lights won't function. Again, modellers can take this base model and do as they wish....

The Prime Movers are priced to be more accessible, albeit right now they are an HO only effort. We haven't discussed an N scale Prime Movers at this time.

Time will tell if this is a popular concept.

This is very good news for HO modellers.  Of the modern CN models, pretty much only the cowls are left on the RTR market.  I did up a SD50 and SD60 from a Kaso kit in both HO and N and they are very nice.

Maybe my Briggs unit will be done before Rapido announces it in N

Interesting concept Pud.

I always thought with the popularity of Atlas Trainman GP15-1, that we'd see more from that line........

There are a couple of BCRail cowl units that frequented Baton Rouge after the CN IC merger so these interest me as well. With the Kaslo kits out of production these would be of interest to me in N.

HAve you guys ever discussed with Atlas making Canadian shells to retro fit their mechanisms?

Every new HO release making me question why I'm in N scale. Having something of a proclivity for CN, the availability of RTR C630M's, SD40-2W's, GP40-2L and W's, GMD-1's, and now a C40-8M, along with the announced SW1200RS, HO becomes more and more of a draw. CP is also an interest and with the Bowser GMD SD40-2's, the SD40-2F, and C630M's, ouch.

Well, because you can stuff more per square meter and the scenery/track ratio is much better in N. Unless you have a huge layout room wilth high ceiling...  :D

Because in N, you can actually run more than 2 of them together...

It is really the glory era for CN diesel modellers in HO.  The Kaslo kits were the only game in town when I shifted to n scale, but if I were going for a shelf layout in a confined space, I would seriously consider HO again.

I would be getting the BC Rail ones for foreign run through power if they were to come out in N scale.

I also like the idea of fewer add on details factory applied, but available in the container for application by the modeler. Sounds like a viable concept in HO, but not sure how the RTR history of N scale would impact sales of a Prime Mover type line.

FVM has done it on some of their locos and it works out fine.
