Kato GG-1 Diners

I just put my GG-1 on my layout a few days ago and almost immediately the two inter-connected diner cars began derailing on 11 inch curves-a problem I'd never had in the past.  It appears that the middle four axles of the combined cars do not fully clear the sides of the cars.  I've had these cars apart several times, trying to somehow raise the bodies of the cars to allow for the wheels to swing more freely, but without success.

Anybody else have this problem--and a solution?

Make sure the shells are firmly pressed onto the bodies. Since you've had them apart that might be the problem. As how to cuouple them: separate the cars, get them on the rails correctly, separately, with the joining ends facing each other. Make sure the coupling tongue is centered to slide under the other car, and gently push them together. They should automatically couple if both cars are on the rails. This is a better way than trying to put them on the rails as a complete unit.
