Question regarding Train Control Systems TCS K0D8-Series

I have a question regarding the Train Control Systems TCS K0D8-Series:

Are the DCC decoders K0D8-A, K0D8-B, K0D8-C and K0D8-D the same regarding the PCB (dimensions) and the onboard software (revision)?

With the only difference being the length of the LED and how many LEDS are soldered to the PCB?

I am asking because I have the chance to buy a few K0D8-D models and would solder LEDs to the PCB to turn them into K0D8-A models.

All the K0D8 decoders have the same footprint / dimensions, they are simply a different configuration of the LEDs. I don't know anything about the onboard firmware revisions (I believe you can check this with one of the decoder CVs), but I do know you can tell the ones with older firmware apart as they have different packaging (paper tab at the top and the decoder manual inside is different).
