It's there I sent it priority and they got it , must be backed up , maybe I'll call today.

Well the guys at nce are gurus  :o got the call yesterday and they found the problem and its on its way back. The only cost was my 4 decoders for the exchange program and 9$ shipping :D can't wait ,

Well the guys at nce are gurus  :o got the call yesterday and they found the problem and its on its way back.

They better be - after all they designed and are making these units!  I would expect no less than gurus.  :D

If the display and keyboard still work as expected but the trains run out of control I suspect that the unit is putting out 12V DC out to the track (not a proper DCC signal).

Hmmm, this sounds like something I had seen on my NCE system a little while back.   I got the 'runaway' effect, and it seemed all the decoder programming was reset.   My display looked totally normal tho, and lately it all seems to be working fine.  (I don't have a way to check the rails for a DCC signal).   I wonder if this could mean that something in my NCE is in the process of failing (it is 10 years old).
