It is a bit inflated... if you've ever worked in retail, you know the mark up on just about anything is at least 50%-75%, if not more.

That should compute to approx. $23 - $25 from your friendly E-tailer.

Like Carl suggests, at $23-$25, the retailer can still make a profit selling a larger volume. IMO the best option is to be patient, wait a year, then pick them up off eBay for $10-16.

I'm glad someone mentioned the MSRP, true you can purchase these for less online etc., but I like to support the LHS whenever possible.

They are nice cars, I'll wait for a deal down the line.

I completely agree, but some of us have to travel to a fair distance to do so. I usually end up supporting other people's LHS...

Actually they will NOT be using Accumates, but the knuckle couple that the factory provides.  The features do not say Accumate but I see that the Accumate licensing information was left on the page causing some confusion.  I will get that changed tomorrow.

Those MT clones aren't that great either. The clones on pretty much every Rapido car I own are junk, random uncoupling, difficulty coupling, etc, etc.

Why not? Because I am trying to save my buckaroos for the unit train of 31K oil tankers I need. 


Also, it seems tooling and labor costs in China are evidently rising faster than my disposable income. $100 for 4 cars is a hard price to pay to build a string of cars in N scale. Unless I miss my era guess, these are cars that largely vanished from the rails before my modeling eras of interest, unless I back dated to the late 80s or 90s when I was more railfan than modeler.

It's just my pain threshold ..  same reason I won't buy a Lexus, or Beemer, or Benz .. its just not worth the cost point for me, even at street price.
