On the L&N cars (which are similar although rivet pattern may be different based on published photos of pre-production car bodies), does anyone know if they have end doors?

No end doors...

The PRR plans indicate end doors and a round roof as well although different hinge arrangement:

perhaps a Shapeways roof replacement and some overlay etchings for the doors.

Thanks Jerry!  Will be a simple enough conversion, and I am sure I can use the end doors on something else.

@Lemosteam That's the wrong car. That's a B74b. The B74a did not have end doors or arch roof.

And later on, the B74a lost its windows

Question for the Espee types:
Apart from the roof, is this car accurate for any class of SP 70' horse car?

@chicken45 , you missed the point.  It may be easier to convert the MT car to a B74b horse car than a B74a.  The B74b is still a 70' car with three doors, AND the end door,  the trick is the roof.

I did miss the point. What's wrong with doing it as a B74a?

Even though this may not be an SP prototype car, as offered by MT, I may still be able to use this release as a donor car for an ATSF bash.
A few ATSf 70' heavyweight baggage cars were built with end doors, as on the horse car....
like this one...

This will be another fairly simple bash using the M&R sides for the 70' baggage!

Because the MT model clearly has end doors and the B74a does not. That might be hard to hide.

I wonder if MT will be able to offer models with or without the end doors depending on how they assemble their molds?

Bruce,
I had the same thought (M&R sides).  Where do we find the trucks? (242A, IIRC)

...Oh.  :scared:

When I looked at the pics, I wasn't able to tell if it were just normal MTL doors with diaphragms or the full car width doors.
