I absolutely never get tired of seeing your spectacular work David and as my son and I are neck deep into building a small layout your inspirational timing could not have been better!

Thanks for the shot in the arm!
Model railroading isn't saving my life, but it's providing me moments of joy not normally associated with my current situation..... Train are good!

The full story on the tipped loco says that it was jacked up to remove the trucks and install "shop trucks" for servicing.  The jacks failed on one side, and over it went.

Working on renumbering some locomotives. I painted some of the walkways too. I discovered that Atlas has "glued" the walkways to their shell's "bases" on this particular run of GP-35s. I like that they did that for appearances sake, but it makes me a little too scared to try to paint the steps. Rather than trying to pry the walkways off, I think I"ll just live with the results. Eh, close enough. Here is C&EI "2":

Updates later...

Ugh, glad I didn't pick up any of the C&EI units....only the grabs and the rails up the stairs should be orange.

Don't forget the step's edges too. Oh, and the "pilot handrails" on each end.

I've been lurking for quite some time here, since getting divorced and going through all that joy ;)

Lately I've been getting back into the swing with a door layout, since I feel like doing hobbies again.  Pretty simple, just to get my chops back lol

I'm working on a pond and foam rocks at the moment, and my first experience with Enviro Tex and laser cut structures.

Looks great man!

I'd recommend maybe some paint on the ties, if you still can, but otherwise, definitely digging the door.

Thanks Mike!  I've definitely been enjoying you and your sons work on the Kanto Sub.  You guys have been making swift progress and your buildings look fantastic. So great to see parents passing on the love for the hobby with their kids.

Modeling the L&N, well at least a few times a year.

That's simply not correct.  Atlas made the right decision, as the black paint is more likely to stay put on the walkways than the handrails themselves... which are clearly orange:
