U.S. CAR No.1 coming Wozzers!

      Next up from Lowell Smith Executive Line (no I' am not a dealer "Pusher"). The "Ferdinand  Magellan" , the armor plated heavyweight car used by president's Roosevelt, and Truman, Eisenhower, and yes Regan on a special one time re election trip after it was basically already in a Florida Rail Museum (Gold Coast). A new heavyweight riveted business car body is being introduced, manufactured by Micro Trains for this car. It looks like there will be loads of add on detail like the Loudspeaker's over the roof on the platform end. The release date in this February. I know this car will sell out . Not sure it deserves a "wozzers" as it is a generic business car lettered for the Magellan (Lowell Smith notes this in the announcement on his website, so its not like he is trying to fool anybody, but you can bet it will be "100% accurate" in the eyes of auctioneers on a certain website and many retailers), and not an accurate model.  But still, no doubt you are correct and collectors will eat it up, and if I buy one and actually run it, I will rue the day it ever set wheels on track, as in the future, it could pay my grandkid's college education. (I never should have broken the seal on those original issue Kadee MT ATSF map cars)  Loudspeakers on the roof are a nice touch, and while my understanding is that the last presidential use was 1954, given that I allow shadow-stripes in my world of 1956, I don't see why I couldn't stretch a bit on timeframe.

It would be great if they also did the communication car POTUS 1 and support car POTUS 2, which used to accompany the Magellan.  But that would require manufacture of a hospital car for those to be based off of.

And both POTUS 1 General Albert J. Myer and POTUS 2 survives along with the Magellan, these cars being in Hialeah, Fl., while the Magellan at the Gold Coast RR Museum.  Only the Magellan has been restored.

The Myer and Moen are owned by the Hollywood (FL) Railroad Station Museum but all but abandoned since 2006 when the director tried to abscond with state grant funds for restoration of the cars. It's unclear if the museum still exists as a charitable organization. If not, its assets, including those two cars, should be reallocated to another nonprofit.

I believe payment is required upfront on pre-orders (check by mail or via Paypal). Even when at a show, I've paid in person with my filled-out reservation form.

I think Nato was very excited when posting his message and made a typo as he was typing in "Wowzers".  Either way, for me this super-exciting (not so prototypical) model is just a "meh".   Funny - my brain didn't even notice the misspelling until you pointed it out.
