Thanks Chris, yes back from Baltidago-Bah. Where as a young Jedi scenery master, I was
introduced to Yoda Ed who taught me the ways of the forest force. Actually has been walking
me through some stuff on FB PM.

I found Yarrow growing in a garden in front of a nursing home complex walking home
yesterday. This stuff looks like miniature trees when trimmed, painted and flocked.
I need to add gray and brown underbrush to the scenes.

I think it looks good, particularly the dead stuff. What did you use?

It is two colors of the dried yarrow, brown and gray. There is a perspective difference though.
What looked like a mile away in the back of the "dead" side, now looks a few feet. Should the
dead trees be trimmed down to show distance?

Sure did....Bought rattle cans of light, med and dark green, brown and yellow and gray.

Can you take some pics of the process? I've never worked with the stuff and am curious.

Here's the steps in preparing yarrow trees. First find a batch that have gone to seed and died.
The first step is spraying the trunk and armatures rattle can grey.

Then shoot the trees from the top with various shades of rattle can greens.



Then spray the trees with spray adhesive. Shake ground foam (WS cheap green turf works).

Here's a finished tree, I will repaint the trunk and armatures with an acrylic gray once in place to cover
and ground foam stuck to the armatures.

Next step is to shoot the tops of the trees yellow, this is an old David Frary trick. The tree pops after this.

I trim the trees after they are planted to fit them into the scene as needed.

Next will cover how to mash the shake from the yarrow into ground cover under dead trees, painted brown and gray.
