Portable Electrcial tester

I was going to post this in the Weekend Update.  But, wanted it to be more available.

In the process of making my post to the Weekend Update, I remembered a question I have gotten over the years.
In making electrical projects, how do I test them.

Some years ago, I made myself a Portable testbed.

I use this testbed for everything electrical.  From Locomotives to Building lights to animations.

Base = 1/4" plywood, 24  x 9 inches
Power = Small Power Pack
Track = (4) sections of Atlas sectional track, Straights OR a section of flex track
Wire = 24 awg CAT5 wire
Test Leads = set of small Alligator Clips
I have added a piece of "Quarter round" Woodstock as a "Guardrail" for the loco testing side.

Both sets of LEADS are connected to the "Track Power Terminals"  (DC).  I also use (not shown) a 3rd Alligator Clip with a 1K 1/4 watt resistor, soldered on to test LEDs.

I hope this will be useful to someone else, as it has been useful to me!.  :D
