are these Tyco cars

are these cars frfom tyco if so how what would be needed to upgrade these cars?

They look like the Mantua kits I used to assemble back in the late 60s, so yeah, you can say they're Tyco cars.

A truck tuner ( JaBee or Micro-Mark)to get the wheels really free rolling.Then body mount some KaDee or other brand of knuckle couplers.If you want more replace the stirrups with formed wire replacements.You could also replace the brake wheels with KaDee parts'

If you want metal wheel sets there are several good brand available.Are the roof walks molded to the roof or are they separate (hard to tell from the pic).If they are molded your stuck with them if they are separate castings KaDee parts to the rescue unless you want etched metal then Plano would be your best bet.

  a better picture is needed,but they look like Varney based
  Life Like cars.
   are those Plastic or Metal door guides ?
   got the picture to enlarge,the 2 on the left are Mantua/Tyco cars.
   the one on the right looks to be Varney or Life Like.
   can You post a shot of the Ends of the cars ?
