participating in the layout at the Train Show does not require attending the convention or paying the associated fees (I'm not attending the 'convention'-just the train show)
there is a $10 participation fee per individual ('early' birds had this fee waived)
it's going to be quite nice!

working on the 'Bushy Creek' T-TRAK single...hoping to pour water (going to try the new 'Murky' Deep pour water from Woodland, in their Woodland Scenics product line...
added some sandy banks and rock...I'll add some dead branch effects here and there before the pour...have to have this reasonably 'done' before Orlando. eventually the bank and top edges will be covered with bush, tree, undergrowth...

a little more work on the 'Bushy Creek' module; attempting to get it ready for the WS Deep pour water before the Orlando NMRA National Train show:

a little weathering of the Kato double track girder bridge...



then some painting, decaling, washing, and weathering of the highway bridge...







I hope to be able to pour the 'murky water' by the beginning of next week...

finally received the other box of WS Deep pour Water and got started on pouring the Bushy Creek module.
I mixed according to directions, added just a little 'murky' tint (the creek I'm emulating is, actually, rather clear...), then poured...
I love the product, it performed just as advertised, and, with careful modeling of the creek bed, provides a very realistic effect.
Still a ways to go-the banks will be filled with brush, bushes, and trees, which will require quite a bit of foilage modeling.

no fumes or bubbles present during the entire process...mixing , pouring, or curing (I still stayed out of the room during the curing for good measure)
I din't deviate from the instructions in any way; WS tells you to NOT pour deeper than 1/2" in a single pour...my creek bed varied in depth from 1/3" to 1/2" in places, so I made sure not to exceed 1/2". I used a total of 560ml for this pour-about 1-1/2 boxes of product.

a little update on "Bushy Creek" and the Deep Pour Water product.
I took some time, last evening, to add another dimension to the creek, using the new WS "water ripples" product. after watching the YouTube video showing application, I jumped in with both feet...basically using a small square cut hobby paint brush to apply the product in a stippling and smoothing motion...the product is a thick clear gel that holds its shape fairly well...and is, basically, foolproof. I really like effect and it certainly gives a little more 'life' to "Bushy Creek".

I still want to see the big ole catfish that lives in that creek, along with the other fish.  One question, you say its "fool" proof, but, what about us idiots?  Is it idiot proof?  Just having some fun before I leave this site for about a week, in the hospital for my surgery.  later, everyone, Craig
