Or if they didn't do stuff as blatantly douchey as mirroring another manufacturer's relase?

I still don't see how production of two extremely popular unmodeled prototypes constitutes copying.

I'm saving my money for a set of TBOXs. I think we'll see them in the near future. There is no other car that makes it in to every mixed freight along my favorite railfanning lines. Hopefully it'll be done well and at a price and unique road numbers that allows purchasing 4 or more at a time.

TBOX - Reporting marks for the most-needed box car of the modern era
FBOX - Reporting marks for the 50' cousin of the 60' TBOX
NSC - National Steel Co. (prototype freight car manufacturer)
PWRS - Pacific Western Rail Supply (model vendor based in BC, Canada)
ER - ExactRail (model manufacturer)
BLMA - Best Looking Models Around (model manufacturer)

You would think ER would rerun the bulkhead flats, they are going for like $40 to $50 on feedbay.

Ya know Joe, MTL could make a killer TBOX if you were willing to dip your toes into the 21st century.  The old LBF 60' boxes are also going for $50+ on the web.  Some proto info:

If anyone wants an  Exactrail FBOX I have one I'll part with for $20 + shipping...looks like they're going for $25+/- on the 'Bay.   I'm also gonna have a ton of other N for sale if you want to amortize shipping.   I'll be posting in Trading Post this coming weekend most likely.

Just got my ER N&W 4000 cu ft hopper for only $12 their HO Evans hoppers have just under 50% discount I wonder if they are doing well in the HO market too? They should have tooled up the 60' boxcars they have in HO in N I think those would have sold well instead of duplicating with the hoppers.

My guess is that no one is doing these because the LBF tooling is out there (somewhere).  I have a few of the 60' cars and they are decent.  Printing and add on details are fair/poor however.

Always sorry to hear a manufacturer is leaving N scale. ER didn't build momentum  with customers before offering some more esoteric prototypes. Going direct hurt them too. Being in direct competition with BMLA on 64 foot reefers didn't help. They are proof you can't just pick any HO model to duplicate in N scale.
