Steam Heads - Parts Box Emergency!! Can you help?

Just finished installing sound decoders in a couple of old ConCor J3 Hudsons, the not so streamlined kind.  Everything was well in hand until I was putting the second one together for its final test.  Lost, yes completely LOST one of the front ladders, and then busted the other one.  I have to ship the engines back to the owner, and it's always better to send them back with all their bits and pieces!

I need a matched pair.  Anyone out there got some rattling around in the junk box?  I'll pay postage to get them here.  Here's the one that remains intact.  It's the ladders there on either side of the smoke box I need.  PM me if you can hook me up.





PS - Please don't squeegee this over to the Trading Post...  It's more of a cry from the wilderness I need our N scale community to see.  Thanks.

emergency is right...

the ladders are attached to the pilot...
the eccentric rods are usually the first to go.
the second is the pilot.

most people leave the ladders.  they break the coupler and lower.

I have tried to make a copy casting... didn't go too good for me.

I am pretty sure I have not a spare pilot... I will look.

I just need the ladders.  The pilot is intact.  The ladders appear to snap into a pin hole on the side of what looks like coarsely rendered air pumps.

It's possible that ladders from a Bachmann Connie might work, but I no longer have one in my possession to check.

Doesn't Gold Medal Models make a set that includes fold up pilot ladders? If they do I have three of these engines and I'd add the brass ones and give away the originals.

I bought the three of mine for donors, Interestingly one of the engines is already missing the ladders but the other two are intact. If at some point I actually want to use these as is (doubtful) I can install the superior GMM ladders on mine.

Someday I want build some Milwaukee F6 Baltics from them.

GMM not part of the equation.  The original owner will be doing some remodeling of his own once he gets them back, so I don't want to put money into something that might not be useful to him.  I just want to return the engine in the same condition I received it.  If you can spare the parts, I would be much obliged.  Please check your pm.

Well, thanks to our good friends at the US Postal Service, the ladders that were offered have been diverted to some other dimension.  It's been about two weeks and 1st Class shouldn't take that long.  The good news is that I found the ladder for the fireman side, so I only need the engineer's side ladder now.

Any chance I can send you all back down to the cellar to see if there's not a spare shell with ladders floating around?

You are not having the best of luck with this project   Good luck unfortunately my scrap box is mostly junk diesel parts. 
Just remembered a stash of Kato Mike ladders from GHQ conversion would they fit?

Take a look at the photo above... if they're close, they might be close enough.  Would probably want the pair so they will at least match.

Yes.  I have a policy to "fess up when you mess up"... it saves a lot of time trying to remember what fibs you told to different people.
