Those forklifts could use the forks trimmed a little shorter also, I think you'll find.

Well, its not N-scale.  Not even close.  It is a 1/32 scale tugboat kit that I modified to look like one of the Lackawanna's Consolidation class diesel tugs from the late 1950's.  I am currently adding the electrical gear to move this thing around the pond.  I couldn't have done it without the help of Bryan Bussey and his skills.  He made the font for the boats lettering and printed the decals for me.  This project was my savior while I was recovering from my brain tumor.  I didn't have the physical ability to work on trains in N or HO scale.  For whatever reason, I was able to work on this boat.  One day I would like to model the EL tug fleet in N-scale but for now, it is back to the trains since my recovery is going well.

Besides the tug, I have been doing some work (in N-scale) on the EL business car fleet.  I just finished drawing the artwork for some etchings to model EL business car no. 2.  I am starting with the MTL obs car and using the MTL 28-1 parlor roof.  Throw in some etched sides and a bunch of details underneath the car and that should do it.  Here is what the artwork looks like prior to being sent to the UK.

You need to stop this Scott, you make me want to switch up and model the EL.  Looking forward to that construction thread you offered.

Oh and, yum, sealed window goodness.  I'd love to see some modernized cars released.  Problem is they're so specialized, so I hope the brass side manufacturers will pick up that mantle.

I started another loco project (NS 1633), like I needed more to finish... :facepalm:



Surprisingly, the prototype has avoided the fate of many other high hoods and still has it's original nose and cab.

Sweet, the N&W high hood -2s are my favorite.

Since the N&W high hoods -2s and some SOU GP38-2 have radio control they are pretty safe from getting chopped since the RC equipment is stored in the high hood I believe.

That is a cool tugboat model Scott!  The paint job looks great too!  Who makes the kit?  Is it designed to be motorized or you added those bits yourself?  The big question now is whether you will weather it like  :tommann: does or will it be left in a pristine condition?

I'm also glad to hear that your health is improving. Your passion for building models might actually be speeding the process.  :)

Scott how long is it ? Looks like you can sit a kid on it and it will float .

The kit is made by Dumas. It is called "The Jersey City" which is a PRR tug. Stem to stern it is about 3' long. Dumas sells the parts to make the boat operate. I am adding a smoke unit as well. I do plan on weathering the boat a bit. It is beautiful clean but there is not much fun in that.

Scott--Very glad to hear that your recovery is going well.

No modeling for me this week.  We helped take care of 2 1/2 and 4 year old grandkids in Waterloo, Iowa while my son prepared for the classes he teaches at UNI and our daughter-in-law worked a 50 hour week.  Came home and took our 5 year old granddaughter to the Illinois State Fair and need to rest a few hours before going back to the office Monday morning.

I did get to do 5 1/2 hours of extensive corn density research each way to and from Iowa  ;)
