Rumors of Bachmann N Scale K4

There are a couple of posts out there indicating that Bachmann is on the verge of releasing an N Scale pre and post war K4. Allegedly, the digital copy of MR's October edition came out this morning, and includes an ad stating "shipping now".

Here's the thread on NScale.net:
http://www.nscale.net/forums/showthread.php?38272-Prr-k4

I can't find any information on Bachmann's website. I asked the OP over on NScale.net to post a screenshot of the ad.

I have the MR All-Time Digital Archives but so far the most recent issue is still the Sept 2015 one.

I saw a comment that they were going to be officially announced at "nationals". I'm not sure what that's a reference to; perhaps Bedford? That would coincide with the print magazines going out.

I hope this isn't self-conformational speculation.  If true, Bachmann has about the quickest turnaround from announcement to market in the business.  I remain skeptical if for no other reason than inertia.

Bachmann is pretty much the only big player in N scale steam, though.  BLI's 12-year turnaround means that if they decide to do it we'll see it in 2027 at the earliest.  So glad we're talking Bachmann.

Hopefully one of the  :ashat:'s at Beford can pin down a Bachmann rep.

Didn't they do a Pennsy K4 a long time ago in HO?

"Nationals" is a reference to the national Train Show in Portland next week.

Bachmann usually makes their big announcements at the National Train Show, so we'll know soon.

If they do make one, lets hope they don't repeat the backward steps they made on the Berkshire.

If they are willing to do a Pacific maybe they would do a C&O heavy Pacific or even a K3 Mike ate some point. All those pumps on the front, so cool!
