Geez @chicken45 did you hire A fairy to do your decals? That's a great job in a small space!

Yes I did hire a fairy. His name is John Frantz. He usually does limited runs based off the PRRPro project.

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

My LHS recently reopened after burning to the ground Memorial Day weekend of 2014. I finally stopped by and was able TP pick up large diameter styrene tube, 1/2" & 7/16" to replace the wood dowels for the chip conveyor. The styrene will be much easier to work with.....

Working on the final arrangement for a block on the Oakland Industrial. The corner building will be a glass brick & concrete streamline moderne bar/club lounge.

On my EP3 project, I received my latest RP main truck frames and pilot decks, with corrections needed from the first batch of testing.  Also adjusted the placement of the pickup strips in the frame.  Unit runs even more smoothly now.  And, got another leg of the mainline down at the west end of the New Haven segment.

The way the baseplate is fastened to the tie using screws is common in Europe.  In U.S. the baseplate/rail is usually fastened using spikes.  That is why I mentioned Europe.  But maybe U.S. railroads also adopted more modern rail fastening methods.

You guessed wrong because you didn't know that US railroads use extra hardware around the points of turnouts.  The tie on the far left is representative of the track beyond the turnout.

Oh well, I guessed wrong. It happens every once in a while.

Make sure you get the green used on the steel bits right; vaguely metallic puke green.

Thanks for the suggestion, John!  I'm red-green colorblind and might need some specific guidance, though.

DFF - Try Model Masters acrylic GREEN ZINC CHROMATE. #4852 - used it on several
bridge beams now and before.  Brush it on, will take two coats.

Can you guess the "prototype" inspiration?

[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

Tracks are getting loopy on the Idaho Belt. Cars are a grab the closest for a test run.

[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

I needed a paper mill vacation so the tracks have pushed onwards. The loop gains distance between the mill and next siding, which will start at the top of the WS incline. This loop sits atop a hidden 3/4 loop 12 inches below that serves the same purpose. Rather than put them all in one helix, I unwound them and connected them on a graded main. Obviously tracks in switching areas remain flat, but even with that lost space, my grade is manageable and vertical spacing is usually at least 12 inches from railtop to  benchwork underside.

Next, the complicated transition to the serpentine upper deck river and summit scene.

Williams Loop, Feather River route.
And if I guessed right, I'd say you nailed it with respect to the angles and such.
