Anyone know if the Triple Crossing in Richmond, VA (old C&O RR, Seaboard Air Line RR & Southern RR) was ever modeled?

Funny, I just found a postcard from this crossing while cleaning recently and I went and looked up other images for my son. One of the images I found was of a model of the crossing. Here's the link: http://smokingtrains.com/p1024897780/h8FD3306#h8fd3306

There was a model club in the Richmond area which sponsored a get-together in 1999 they called the No Bull Unconvention.  It featured a train show with modules from all over in a huge N-Trak layout, out by the NASCAR track in Richmond.  (Blueberry Hill?  something like that...)  The North Raleigh Model RR Club was a big participant.  I heard about it from them.  A friend and I registered our modules and brought them up from Niceville/Valparaiso Florida to participate.

One highlight of the layout was a very accurate model of the Main Street Station in Richmond.  He did the elevated tracks and all.  I'm trying to remember whether his module included the triple crossing.  I think he did, but I don't have any pictures of it.  It is about 600 feet southwest of the station front entrance, now separated from the station by an I 95 interchange.  You could spend hours looking at the station model.

On a side note, the same club (I think it was called RANtrak, for Richmond Area Ntrak) held a second Uncovention at the Broad Street Station in Richmond, which is now a museum.  This time, the NTrak layout was set up in a tent along the station platforms and below the concourse.  The same modeler did another outstanding job scratchbuilding a model of the Broad Street Station.  I enjoyed participating in that setup as well.  He modeled the station building and the complete loop of track off the mainlline.  Trains exited the mainline from a wye and used the loop to pass through the station and return to the wye.  I understand all trains passed through the station in the same direction.  It was a terminal for the RF&P. and the museum has some RF&P varnish on display.

That is insane. The wear and tear and maintenance must have been horrific, hence the piles of rail on the right.
Where is that, Chris, and is it still there?

the Richmond Triple Crossing is in a part of the area that
most don't like to go to.
this is unfortunate, but the roads in that area are horrid,
they don't have potholes, there are craters.
hardly any trains run thru there in daylite, maybe one NS
  turn to West Point.
CSX locals on the ex-SAL tracks,as that main has been cut
  for years.
the ex-C&O sees few trains on the James River Line, the other
ex-C&O Main is now leased to Buckingham Branch, its easier
to see BB high railer trucks than their trains.
main activity in Richmond is the NS Hull Street Yard across
the James, most trains are Daylite runs in and out now.
the Former RF&P Acca Yard, and the line to DeeCee,and the
  Florida Line.
Richmond rail activity aint what it used to be !!

What a shame.  It used to be so great with no less than five railroads in town.  Even in the 1980s and '90s when I went to school in Richmond, there was no shortage of action. :(

Bill, I know some of the RANTrak crew and will try to contact them.  I moved to Virginia after 2007 so I didn't see the conventions you referenced.  Also don't recall seeing any triple crossing module at their open house.

Chris333, technically you posted a Duodecuple crossing (12 actual track intersections).  I'll be challenged trying to model the Richmond three level "Triple Crossing", but I'm not even going to think about a Duodecuple.  The track work would be a bear, but the wiring (live frogs) would be a nightmare.  Think you should give it a go first.   :D

Those NTRAK conventions in the 90s were awesome.

I loved the one in Alexandria with the crazy grades and walkaround throttles.
