Kato N Scale C30-7 Sound Install
« on: March 30, 2015, 04:46:18 AM »

Hi all

I have just finished installing a sound decoder in my Kato C30-7.  It was very similar to the install I did on my Kato U30C on March 14   https://www.therailwire.net/forum/index.php?topic=35661.0

I used the same decoder and speaker, LokSound Select and a Zimo 8 x 12 sugar cube, but this time I got the correct sound file for the GE engine.

The install and frame modification was mostly the same as for the U30C, however I moved the front light dropper resistor to the rear of the frame.  The shell was a bit larger inside and only needed a small amount of scraping/cutting/filing.

Looks like the links to my photos in photobucket didn't work, any advice on how to do this would be appreciated.

thanks

Nice sound . . .

On the photos, check to make sure that the end of the photo URL is [/img].  I've noticed that sometimes when I try to embed photos, the beginning bracket of the [/img] at the end of the URL gets cut off.

Very nice installation and sound!  A note about Photobucket linking: click on the "Direct" link box in the upper right of the Photobucket page - that will copy a URL into your clipboard.  You can paste the copied URL into your post and surround it with "img" tags, as I did in your OP.

Thanks guys for your tips.

When I first posted the photos they didn't shown up, but later on they did, so there's a delay somewhere.
