Could you be a little more specific or show an example?  There wasn't just one type and what is common may be different depending on era.

I have an type N cylinder  with a type L Triple valve on Shapeways  that I made it for an express box car that needed passenger braking.

I think one common set of brake equipment for heavyweights was  UC equipment which used  Type 'Q' cylinder.

For the 16 inch passenger cylinders I sometimes use the old HO scale Athearn 9 inch locomotive cylinders. Looks close to me having repacked dozens of both types.

I would love to see someone produce a lot of generic air tanks on shapeways, that and Feedwater Pumps, and Cross Compound Compressors, all the appliance commonly seen on steam engines and under passenger cars.  The detail part mfg's seem to have dried up.

How many do you need? I bought all of the pecos river brass he had left in his basement and I believe I have a while bag of them! I'll look tomorrow. I won't sell all of them as I will use them too but I'll see how many I have. Maybe we could do some horse trading.
