I'm torn here too.  My primary era is 1956, before this class came into being.  In fact, the PRR was hauling ore then by half-filling H21s to account for the density of the ore.

Whoops. I didn't realize that this class didn't exist until 1960. Unfortunately, that means they're too late for me by a decade. Still an awesome car, and I hope it does well.

the same for me...early 50's steam with just the beginning of transition
H21s fit my era

still hope these will be produced and be a major success!

Oh no!  Hold on to Mr. Wallet!  As a '70s Lehigh Valley modeler, a unit train of these would be a staple for ore service to Bethlehem Steel!

I need a train of these too.  So far I only have 6 of Allen's etched beauty's.  I would love to see these ready to run.

Even though I model in 1930, I would get a pack for the fact that its an iconic Pennsy freight car.

Let's not get ahead of ourselves.  At this point, this is just a survey running through the end of June to determine if a market exists.

I know some etched brass kits were made...
I never saw them for sale.

one or two of them for raising the cute factor would be nice.

Something to consider is the fact that during the 1960's the industry shifted from high grade iron ore to taconite pellets.
the loads during the PC/CR era would be different then in the PRR era...

been thinking....

any chance you can print the cars with unique numbers.
like 0001 to 4999 for conrail and 5001 to 9999 for PRR?

I can see a mad scramble for some numbers, however,
I can see a lot of happy faces at n-trak shows.

Hi 71Jeep,

It is only a suggestion.  I'd wait until bbussey decides to make his ....run?
then the need for the decals will rise.

I'd rather buy a 20-pack of a Great Northern prototype... The ones with a yellow end for Taconite would be my favorite.

Can anybody please tell me what PRR (diesel) loco would be correct/prototypical? Maybe I'll reconsider.

Where these cars only used in unit trains or were they found in mixed freights?
Never argue with idiots; they'll drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.
