As drawn, it really should be on the left, say between 1' and 2' marks somewheres, as York would continue to the right

Im about to build a town for a paper mill so am following along with interest.
Can you please advise what parts of the process the letters on the diagram represent? Are they the same as the Glatfelter Paper Co drawing a page or 2 back?

I haven't gone back and checked everything, but I am pretty sure that's what he used for the letters.

I pulled everything up in the paper mill area to start with a clean slate.

I left the original coal track in bc of the pit being glued in place.  I will remove it once I figure out new design.

Reality is 13 inches from backdrop to layout edge on the right half of the plan. That preserves a 36 inch wide aisle.

The blob on the left holds a 18 to 21 inch radius turn back loop with 1 hidden loop for elevation underneath. It's 29 inches in reality from backdrop to layout edge where the left warehouse and storage tracks are. The diagonal area with the power plant building is an addition, but I've been thinking it needs to become an off stage scene areas the building may block areansccess to switching locations. The scene is 58 inches off the floor.

I came up with this tonight using the earlier drawing, the overhead PHG shot and google maps.  It can't be done given my current space, but I can widen this section by 10", making it 27 " wide.     Trains would come in on the Frederick Branch of the old PRR instead of using the current YorkRail/old WM line but it will work for the situation.  I'm not too concerned about the inner loop radius, not running power thru there, maybe just shove the coal drag into there while unloading.  And would gap/insulate it as to prevent creating a reverse loop.

Be careful reach in distance doesn't become an issue.

Were I you I would plan on two sides access but use the coal and woodchip piles plus the digester buildings as a backdrop to keep operators seeing omly what's on their side so the scene seems larger.

My layout height is only 42" or thereabouts, so I have a little more leeway with the reach police.  But your idea of access on both sides is something else I will have to look into .

Adam: I admire how you have no hesitation to uproot what you have to make things fit your scheme or remedy flaws. Not only that, you have things back in operation  in just a few days.
