I saw the whole train at Klein's here in Baltimore. It was in the display case and said "not for sale."

Here's a Clerihew about Ed. K.

Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
But mention his law
and you've pulled your last straw!

Alternate version:
Ed Kapucinski
Every night, he plants a new tree.
He asks excitedly "Did you say Ménage à Trois?"
No, I said "Ed's Law."

Did anyone notice on Kato's website their photo of the FEF is labeled "black paint"!  Kind of implies the gray scheme might be coming!

I saw the whole trainset today at my LHS, the boys at the shop told me its not for sell untill Dec 1st per Kato. Glad I pre-order it, the hold set is a thing of beauty.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.

Wow!  From all I have been witnessing about this model (Kato's website, forums, Youtube, and now even pre-release demo units in hobby shopes), Kato's merchandising machine is running full steam ahead.  This is probably the highest hyped model I've encountered for a while.  I'm not saying ti is a bad thing - just commenting on it.

Good point. Interesting to see the activity preceding the release and compare that to what is normally done.

I think the Hype comes from the SP Daylight. Kato did such a good job on that one like they do most of their locos that people know this one would be great as well.

I don't understand why people (including Kato) are running UPP 809 Jim Adams backwards! It drives me nuts every time I see it. Both in the video I seen from Trainfest and now this one.

The flag flies left to right, as views from the conductors side, same as what UP diesels look like. Least Joe Jordan is correct behind Jim Adams.

I will change that around. It is how they pack the box. I just took out out in the order that it was packed.

No worries Jeff, wasn't mean as a attack or anything. Just baffled me that is how they did it.

Any chance you can compare the set to the yellow in the UP CoLA set? Just curious.

I saw this @ MB Klein yesterday .. it's a very nice looking setup .. I just wish I could justify it on the Maryland and Ohio .. but I can't justify over $500 for something that will be a "novelty" for my layout ..

Technically, the flag should be always "Assaulting forward" so, the field of stars should ALWAYS face towards the front of the consist.....
