frosting clear styrene

I want some frosted windows, in case I install lighting so you can't see in, on an "older" structure.  How do I frost the clear styrene.  I know about using Scotch tape but I'm not sure I trust it over a many year life.

Spray Dullcote on the "inside" of the windows.  This doesn't cause the windows to look matte from the outside, but they will appear frosted.

That's exactly what I was going to recommend!  :)   Or any flat clear coating (there should be water-based versions available).

Ok then, take some 400 grit wet/dry sandpaper and sand one side of the styrene.  Is that difficult enough? :D

I would mist on some grimy colors on the inside, so the building doesn't look like some Christmas display when lit up. :tommann:

I building a modern granary that is still standing on the Canadian Prairie in Morrin Alberta, plans from MR February 2002.  I was going to show the specific picture but thought you might enjoy looking at some of the strange Canadian granaries still standing.

The one I am modeling is titled "Starland (Morrin, Alberta) and the small office in front is what I am working on now.  I just spray painted the inside of the office with Testor's flat black to tone down lighting.

I've mistakenly got Testors Liquid Cement on the back side of some block windows on the Walthers Geo. Printing building.  Glazed them quite nicely.   :facepalm:

I spray the windows from the outside, along with the rest of the structure. It's frosted enough for me.
